Set a goal of trying one new fruit or vegetable every week
Keep a bowl of fruit on your desk at work
Switch from ice cream to frozen yogurt
Substitute sweet potatoes for regular baked potatoes or fries. You'll get more Vitamin A.
Get more fiber. Add canned beans or a handful of nuts to your salad.
Take the stairs, not the elevator.
Don't e-mail your office mate. Walk down the hall and deliver the message personally.
Get a dog. Commit to walking 10 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes at night.
Buy a soccer ball. Kick it with your kids or a neighbor.
Buy shoes at the end of the day when your feet are more swollen from use.
i like those 10 ideas. they all seem pretty easy and practical. saturday night i was in bed at 11:45 and up at 8:15. last night bedtime was 12:00, and i was up at 9:00.
i haven't made it all the way through the list, but i'm sure a suggestion is to park far away from the store and walk. yeah, i need to do it more, but sometimes i'm not patient enough or just in a plain hurry!
I'd say that trying frozen yogurt over ice cream is a fabulous idea - especially since places like Pinkberry, Orange Cup and Yogalicious are like the new Starbucks - one on every corner!

This challenge/contest has been making it obvious to me how changing my schedule is - I always thought I was pretty consisten about bedtime and waking up - not so much!
Ok, so yesterday I didn't really want to work out. But Erik nicely convinced me to do so. It felt great! And I did it again today, too!!!! about 4.5 miles on the bike. Some light weights. :)
i always knew i loved sleep, but looking back, it seems i'm a solid 9 hours kinda girl. oh, the days before children. my only prayer is our babies like to SLEEEEEEP!!!!! ;)
Bed at 11, up at 7:30. 8 1/2 hours. We are adjusting our to-bed and wake-up times for next week.
Nicholas and Charlie took their school photos yesterday at registration. Even though I am a photographer, there is something traditional about the school photo. We all made a big deal about it being Nicholas' FIRST school photo. :)
oh dear, i've been slack on my comments. i've done pretty well this week with my bedtimes and sleeping. except for one night, when i accidentally stayed up too late reading--i think that was monday night--i've been in bed at 12:00 and up at 9:00.

Bed at 11:15 up at 8. I was so tired this morning and dreaming and dreaming. Little tummies were beckoning for breakfast.
Walked to the park with the kids so got excercise and got to be green instead of driving.

I had a new veggie last week!!!!! I cooked with a leek. It was a first for me .... and an interesting idea ... I really like that! :)
it's getting hot and icky outside. we've been spoiled with our lovely low temps!
Those are great suggestions. I always opt for the stairs over the elevator. Cricket is our automatic alarm at 6 am - in bed by 11.
