energy and more.

Spending an evening (and morning...we got rained only 20 minutes into our session...and I mean flash flood kind of rained out...it was incredible) with Josh was so much fun.

Josh has so many expressions, energy, and excitement I knew we were going to get some fantastic images.  We went from one location to the next and stayed with in about 100 yards of his house because there was so much that we was willing to put in front of the camera.

We photographed his wonderful 80s record collection, belted a bit of Broadway, sang a Requiem, and had a little Bible study.

a lot of reading.

I cannot believe how much this little missie has grown since I last saw her.  She is so independent and loves to run around naked.  She couldn't get enough of showing me all of the big girl things she could do. We read stories, played in her tent, road her rocking horse, ran around outside, played at the park, raced up hills, and did ring around the rosy...she likes to stay busy.  No sitting on the sidelines of life...

Her parents are so loving and attentive and genuinely wonderful.  They read some fantastic books that I'm going to have to find so I can read them to my kids.  Spending time with this gracious family was a gift.  I'm so blessed to know them.

beautiful.

There's something wonderful about being outside in a great yellow dress.  I love the look and feel of this session and especially the wonderful connection between these sweet sisters.

Thank you for your example of what I'm hoping my daughters will grow up to be to each other...

together.

I loved getting to hang out with this sweet family.  They go RV-ing together to all kinds of places.  There home holds an artist and dancer and definitely adventure-ers and explorers.  They traveled across the country to call the Carolinas their home...that's pretty adventurous.  They have understanding and kind hearts and there's so much to love about each of them.

I'm so blessed to be invited into familes to get a glimpse of who they are and what their relationships are like.  And it's one of my favorite things to be able tp be given a tidbit of wisdom from parents who are treading where I will be blazing a trail of my own soon.  Their thoughtful parenting and awareness of their children is a gift to not only their children but those who get to see them in action.

This family is the embodiment of accepting one another and at the same time giving each other the space to spread their wings and fly.

Move it Monday: Back in the Saddle...again.

Gene Autry and I.

I back in the saddle.  I'm blogging again...hopefully.  And I'm back on a schedule to get with the program and get healthy.

People say that they do best losing weight in the summer with all that garden fresh food everywhere and time to exercise, etc.  Not me!  Summer is the hardest time of the year for me to stick to my exercise plan.  My kids are home and we're doing something different everyday or staying up until ridiculous hours and getting to bed so late that by the time I get the day in gear it's way too hot to walk outside...my excuses in the summer can go on and on. :)  Not to mention the ice cream.

I have to say I love my husband's version of a Coldstone ice cream.  It's so stinkin' good and such a great reward at night as we sit on the could and chat or watch a movie.  (I'm kidding that it's a great reward.  I guess it's a great reward if we want to die and early death...)

Back to school.  Back to the routine means I get to get back to being healthy and exercising.

So...this week it's back to my old ways of being healthy.  Eating less, putting less on my plate, 20 minutes of exercise everyday...all the usual suspects.

I'm back in the saddle.

How about you?

healthy. LIFE.
