This is the check in place.

So all of you consistent, fat burning people....

I posted here and had a lot of people want to get off their booties.   So...don't wimp out on me now! Relieved.

Every Monday I will give hints and tips to help you out and also a little push to take it to the next level.  Make sure to comment and tell me what you think!

I'll also be starting a contest for those that are inspired more by contests....

I'm thinking that Monday could be our check in day.  In the comments post how you are doing.  How many days you got to go walking, how long, if you kept your commitment to yourself to walk at least 20 minutes 6 days a week and if you're leaving food on your plate.  You can let us know if you did more or less and any tidbits of help you want to offer to everyone.  If you have a recipe that you think is a great one you can send it to me at davina@davinafear.com and I'll feature it here on the blog.  If you have a picture of you and/or the recipe, send that too (if you don't have one that's okay).  Make sure you send your info, name, blog address, etc. so I can make sure to let people know who you are.

Move it Monday.  Make sure you're moving your body every day and then telling us about it every Monday.  I can't wait to hear how everyone is doing at being consistent.  Remember that's the most important...just do something.  Move. Everyday.

So...I walked everyday but Sunday since I posted.  I've also eaten smaller portions and then left some food on my plate.  Except when I went to Noodles and Company...I totally ate it all before I realized that I didn't leave any food on my plate...I did order the small though, instead of the regular (that's what I usually get...).  So I'm becoming more aware of what I'm eating so that's a good thing, right?

Even though it was cold enough to make my eyes water this morning I still went for my 20 minute walk this morning....I'm committed!

I'm down 3 1/2 pounds...not sure if that means anything at this point....

So how are you doing?  Tell us in the comments!  It's check in day....(And don't forget to send recipes or helpful tidibits to me so I can feature you on the blog!)

****NOTE:  Make sure to be posting in the comments if you want to be part of the upcoming contest!****

move. LIFE.

I exercised three days last week, but yesterday (Monday) I had a good workout and am fired up for the week! I also left half of my "molten" (if you haven't eaten one at Chili's, you have got to try one!) last night as we ate them with our kids as part of Family Night. I didn't weigh myself today, I'm going to wait for another week or so, but I am right there with you, Davina!

Thanks for doing this! I need it :) I started a cycling class. It's amazing how sitting away from the clock and not being able to view it while cycling gives me more energy. I've also started drinking more water. I've just started this weekend. Thanks again Davina.

I would love to be involved in this. I have the same problem, I am great for one to two weeks and then all done. It just takes one outing and I am done. I am trying to get off baby weight and it is hard because this is something I have never had to have self control over and now all the sudden I do. Lets do it!!!

Mike, that's totally the way to do it! Leave some of that stuff on the plate. I'm glad you're working out. Keep it simple and consistent.

Ingrid, cycling class sounds very cool. And what a good idea to sit away from the clock. I've been talking to some ladies about meditating and she said she would always be wondering when her 10 minutes was up. Instead she just set a timer so that she wouldn't have to keep looking at the clock. So set your timer for 20 minutes and go!

Dawn, I hear you. I have baby fat that's been hanging on for about 12 years...ugh. This year...hasta la vista... And it's such a bummer when your body decides it doesn't want to keep the weight off for you any more.

In the two years I've lived in my house I've never really ventured far in any direction except east (the grocery store) or south (the freeway toward Salt Lake). I knew there was a park north of my neighborhood, but I never really checked it out.

One day, someone was coming to look at our house that was for sale, so I had to take our dog for a walk while my husband showed the house. I decided to venture a little more north than I was used to - toward the park...

Once I got there I saw that there was a paved walking trail around it! Yay! The next day decided I was going to try to jog around the trail a few times (or at least attempt). If nothing else, I was going to walk around it. But then I was curious what the distance around it was. I was sure it wasn't that much, but I wanted to find out for sure. A friend of mine loaned me a pedometer - but it was broken!

At work the next day, I mentioned the broken pedometer to my friend. Someone overheard our conversation and suggested I visit the site www.mapmyrun.com -- Awesome site! Turns out the trail is .5 miles around. I was jogging/running around it 5 or more times! That made me feel pretty good.

I admit I've slacked off a little and haven't been to the park in about a week. But I'm headed back tonight when I get home from work. (And I'll actually weigh myself - eeep!)

If you walk around your neighborhood and aren't quite sure how far you're walking, go to that site, click on "map a new run" and enter your location and go from there. It's really easy and it's kind of cool to see how far you're actually going. :)

So, to end my ramblings I just want to say --- We can do this!

Thanks for the tidbit Julie! I should totally blog that so that everyone knows. Mike showed it to me the other day and I found out I was walking a little over a mile. Not much but it's something! Thanks for the reminder and the great idea.

Julie, Are you walking at Liberty Party? I love that park!

Yay Tana! Glad to have you with us. We're totally going to make a difference for our body and life....

It's actually a small park in Farmington just north of Shepard Lane (I'm not sure of the name).

But I love Liberty Park, too!!

Ok, here I go. I took the plunge today and bought a 2yr gym membership. I could stand to loose some weight, but mostly I just want to get in shape again. Consistency is a big thing for me and I am like a little kid when it comes to working out. 5 mins into a workout routine you might hear me say, "is it time to stop yet?" So I joined a really cool Christian owned and operated gym. It is super super clean and has tons of great equipment. I think I will do better working out every week if I am paying for a membership. I started today and swam for 30min.

Melissa! Great! Eating more aware is such a huge part of putting a halt to gaining more weight. I'm excited!

Alaina, good for you! I hear you about wanting to quit 5 minutes into a workout. Making a plan for something that you feel is doable is going to last the test of time. Adding as you go instead of starting out all big and bad and huge is a recipe for burning out fast for me. Small, simple, consistent is what will help me lose long term and keep it up long term. Swimming, that sounds nice! Thirty minutes of swimming...I bet you felt great after that!

Davina,
I am doing the circuit 5 days a week, I feel so much better. Apparently the aerobic exercise melts belly fat, so far so good. I now want to do more. Thanks for posting about this.
