new life.

We've finished putting my floor into my studio.  Yay!

This is my naked studio.  Nothing in it.  And now, I only want to put back in it what I really love and really need.  I have been looking like crazy for the things that I love.

Here's some of my inspiration...

I love it just as it is! So fresh. Can you share which room in your house this is? Separate entrance? How exciting to have this room devoted to your business.

It's just waiting to be filled with fun things, it looks great! What did you decide to use for flooring? We are about to put a new floor all throughout our house and I haven't had much luck finding lighter colored materials.

LOVE the white floors! I'm have about 5 paint samples on my wall right now and they're similar to yours, but too green. I really like how blue and "poppy" it is! I'd love to know the brand and color of your paint!

Laura, this is the front room of my house (living/dining). No separate entrance. It's a change from having my studio out of my home in Utah. I loved that! It's been really fun to set up here in my house though. I think it helps so much for women, especially, to set up a beautiful space to work in. It helps to separate your work from your life and also helps you to feel like you're taking yourself, your business, and your creativity seriously.

Laura H. We used the tundra floor from Ikea. We love it!

Karen, it's a made up color. I'll have to see if I can go dig up the can and check for the recipe... :)

Karlee, that yellow sofa is from Anthropologie and costs $6000!!!! It's a dream. My husband said, "We could go to Europe for that!" And I honestly don't know if I could bring myself to spend that much for a sofa. But oh how I love it!!

Krystal, thank you! what sweetness...

Joy, I just went and checked out Jules's studio and her fantastic opening and everything. What fun!!! Wish I could have been there. Her studio is just gorgeous with all kinds of great details. I almost bought that flowery chair at Pier 1!! I lover her fluer de lis wall paper. And she has some fantastic details. Awesome.

Amy, I'll see if I can find that color for you...

Melissa, me too!

Courtney, this is in my home. My front room/dining room when you walk in the front door. You should totally convert some space if you have it to spare. It feels wonderful to have something beautiful and fun. Good luck. Send me some pictures. I want to see what you do!

What a calm beautiful space! The light you have in the details section is gorgeous! perhaps in the next house I will have some space to do this...
