I've just been on a great trip with Lauren, Millie, and Kelly.  Oh how I love! getting together with them.  We laugh a lot and every time we see each other...no matter how long it's been...it's like we were never a part.  The only thing that would be better than that is if we didn't have to be apart...

So put Love Affair on your calendar for the second week in September!

And here are some clues for you about where it's at...

Today is the day.

reddoor.

I have had the fantastic experience of working with Reddoor in redesigning my identity a few years ago.  They were extremely patient as I went through the process of making the big and little decisions. 

I loved that they were able to understand that I wanted a designer feel to my logo and something that would be enduring.  At the same time it was important to me that my identity conveyed a feeling of fun and not being too stuffy.

Tim and Erik are easy to talk to, helpful in guiding their clients thru difficult decisions, great at listening to what a client is hoping for and then putting bringing that idea to fruition in a creative and perfect way.

Reddoor has recently created a blog called Free Design Advice.  It's filled with inspiration, ideas on how to be an excellent client, how to know what you want, and so much more.  I get caught there for too long trying to read thru all of the excellent posts that are very well written.

They have a new series that they are doing called: Client Spotlight.  Essentially it's a BEFORE and AFTER.  In each post they feature one of their clients including their logo/identity before getting Reddoor to work their magic and after working the Reddoor transformation magic.  Not only do they show the logos but they walk you thru the process of arriving at the new and perfect logo for each client.

Reddoor featured me on their super cool blog just a few days ago.  Go and check it out and see my old logo from years ago and read about the process of how I got my new awesome, wonderful, "I wish I would have thought of that" logo.  Not only is my logo really cool...you should see my business cards!! Wohoo!!

first time ever sale.

real life is beautiful.

This year has been a difficult for many people and families. In the spirit of the season I would like to give a family an opportunity to see their sweet life and the love they have for the people around them. I would like to give a free session to a family in need of seeing their beautiful life. I'm also including $1500 of products (album and wall art).

One family will be chosen to have a session with me, they will receive an album and wall art...at a value of $1500.

How will this work?

1. Think of a family that you know that would greatly benefit from a session like this. I'm thinking of families who are deploying a family member with the military, someone with a terminal illness, a family who has had an especially difficult year financially, or just a tough year in too many ways to count.

2. Send your nomination to davina@davinafear.com. Make sure to include the family's name and 3-4 sentences about what they've been through and why you think they would benefit from a photo session.

3. If you have a snapshot of the family please attach it to your nomination email.

4. All nominations need to be received by December 21, 2009.

5. I will announce the winning family on Christmas Eve 2009 on my blog.

A couple of rules:

    1.  You cannot nominate yourself or your own family.

    2.  The family needs to be within 1 hour of the Charlotte, NC area.

    3.  You can nominate as many people as you would like.
