new look. well...sort of new.

I hadn't realized until I went to Love Affair that I never showed my finished studio! (done over a year ago...what was I thinking?)  So here it is...

I switched out some of the heavy, dark furniture for an Ikea yellow storage piece.

Installed the white Ikea flooring.

Bought a big wood farm table with history.

Got that ginormous Ikea light that falls into the middle of the room.

Added an Anthropologie pillow here and other random pillow finds there.

And...that's about it.  Not a lot of intense work (the floor DID take us three days to put in) or changes but it made a huge difference.

surreal.

This morning I had the opportunity to appear on Charlotte Today and share my thoughts on photography as well as some tips on taking better pictures.  My friend Lisa Brownstead {she's a yoga instructor and owner of Pretty Postures} connected me with Colleen, who is the host of Charlotte Today. 

I've never been on TV or anything like it and I have to say it was so fun to see the behined-the-scenes and getting to chat with Colleen.  I had no idea that everything was so low key and laid back...at least that's the way they make it look!  It seemed like each person on the set had perfect timing and knew just how to make every little moment run smoothly.  Everyone was so friendly and available...you can tell that they all enjoy working together.

I had so much fun being on the show and meeting so many really wonderful women.  {If you need some tips on what the best bra is for your summer wardrobe there's a segment for you, too...and if you want to hear a beautiful story about forgiveness you won't want to miss that tidbit either...well, just watch all of the little bits...you won't be sorry...}

photo booth.

Ten days ago my kids, my husband, and I created a really fun photo booth for the Baxter Village Spring Fling.  I could never have pulled this off without them.  I'm so grateful for their help and the fun we had working together.  I love them...I'm lucky.

The Baxter Village Spring Fling is one of the premier events that happen in Baxter Village.  It's designed to have a small, hometown feel with booths lining both sides of downtown, a 5k in the morning, events through out the day, and bands playing through out the night.  

During the day families come out to the Spring Fling to have fun walking around and participating in activities.  We decided having a photo booth would be a great way to add to the fun for everyone attending...and it did!  yay!

So...here's a little peek at our day.
