on our way.

it's really here. we're really gone.
On Wednesday....this is what our house looked like. The kids were helping clean off all of our furniture before it was loaded, eating strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast, Emmett was playing with friends for the last time, the movers were loading up the truck, friends were stopping by to see us and giving us sweet gifts for our road trip, and very kind neighbors came and helped us clean our house. Thank you. Thank you!
We said some difficult goodbyes and as we waved to our dear neighbors there were tears all around. As much as we're looking forward to South Carolina and the adventure that it holds for us we are torn over the sadness we feel to leave our friends, happy memories, and a house that became a sweet home. The place that we brought Gracie home from the hospital, where Miriam and Emma lost their first tooth, Emmett found out he was accepted into the PAL program, where I refinished the cupboards of our kitchen, the kids rode their bikes down our roads and to the Sinclair for treats with great freedom and safety, where our neighbors were watchful and protective, the russian olive trees sweet smell blew through our windows it's wonderful fragrance, Gracie learned to ride her bike without training wheels, and so many more tender moments of love and graciousness, 4th of July parties, and dinners with friends....
We will forever love our little home in Hooper. It holds so much love and cherished memories. We will miss you little house and we will miss all of the dear friends who helped us to make beautiful memories there....
good. LIFE.

Packing Day!
this is it!
Ummm....this is Move It Monday. Really. I'm moving.
So...the packers are here! I can't believe it. We are actually moving. Everything is getting put into boxes as I type. Today the majority of the house is getting packed up and tomorrow the studio will be packed up. On Wednesday the truck will arrive, be filled up, and we will be on the road to South Carolina (with a bunch of stops along the way....).
So....please be patient if you're waiting for pictures, albums, etc. We've been working around the clock to get as much done for everyone as we can before we hit the road (we were up most of the night last night and went to bed just as the sun was coming up). Since the last month has been spent shooting...A LOT of sessions...I'll have to go on blogging blitz in a few weeks after I arrive in South Carolina.
If you have any questions or need to get in touch with the studio please write to info@davinafear.com or call 801.628.2893.

sneak. peek.
Melissa and Juan had the perfect day for their wedding. Blue skies, great music, lots of laughing, smiling, dancing, and sweet somethings whispered. I absolutely love the way Melissa and Juan treat each other and the people around them. When I met them I was drawn into their love and every time I get to see them I smile the whole time I'm with them...I just can't stop. Thanks for inviting me into your special world! Stay tuned and check back here on the blog for more pictures! I'm so grateful that I got to be part of Melissa and Juan's wedding day.

amazing. LIFE.
move it monday. sort of.
let's face it.
At this point I'm walking strictly for my mental health.
We are:
2 days away from turning off the internet and moving out of my beautiful studio.
3 days from setting up the best, coolest 4th of July bash in the history of our second annual 4th of July party...history
4 days away from having the best, coolest 4th of July bash in the history of our second annual 4th of July party...history.
5 days away from a super cool wedding.
6 days away from completing our dejunking process.
7 days away from the movers coming to start packing up the house.
8 days away from the movers coming to pack up my studio.
9 days away from the movers loading up the truck.
And...9 days away from piling the kids in the van and riding off into the Hooper sunset and turning our minivan east toward the Smokie Mountains of South Carolina.
Yes, it's true. I'm walking for my mental health. And really, it's keeping me surprisingly sane. We've been working around the clock to get as much done for clients as possible before we leave, along with all of the other lists of things that we need to accomplish before the movers arrive. And the truth is...we're all doing pretty well so far.
My walks in the morning have really been my lifesaver, though. It's my chance to talk to God, reconnect with the sweet breeze, the blue sky, and the smells I love in Hooper (I can't get enough of those old fashioned rose bushes that grow wild in the ditches or the russian olive weed trees with their sweet fragrance). I get to take some deep breaths and then ask for the grace that I need for the day.
So...when you're feeling a little stressed, a little overwhelmed, a little (or a lot) like the day has too much ahead of you...take a walk, breath deeply, look at the blue sky, feel the breeze, and smell the air. It will make a difference. Really. It will.
Give me your update in the comments...how is your move it monday plan going?
peaceful. LIFE.
