move it monday. sort of.

Posted on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 01:14AM by Registered CommenterDavina | Comments9 Comments

let's face it.

At this point I'm walking strictly for my mental health.

We are:

2 days away from turning off the internet and moving out of my beautiful studio.

3 days from setting up the best, coolest 4th of July bash in the history of our second annual 4th of July party...history

4 days away from having the best, coolest 4th of July bash in the history of our second annual 4th of July party...history.

5 days away from a super cool wedding.

6 days away from completing our dejunking process.

7 days away from the movers coming to start packing up the house.

8 days away from the movers coming to pack up my studio.

9 days away from the movers loading up the truck.

And...9 days away from piling the kids in the van and riding off into the Hooper sunset and turning our minivan east toward the Smokie Mountains of South Carolina.

Yes, it's true.  I'm walking for my mental health.  And really, it's keeping me surprisingly sane.  We've been working around the clock to get as much done for clients as possible before we leave, along with all of the other lists of things that we need to accomplish before the movers arrive.  And the truth is...we're all doing pretty well so far.

My walks in the morning have really been my lifesaver, though.  It's my chance to talk to God, reconnect with the sweet breeze, the blue sky, and the smells I love in Hooper (I can't get enough of those old fashioned rose bushes that grow wild in the ditches or the russian olive weed trees with their sweet fragrance).  I get to take some deep breaths and then ask for the grace that I need for the day.

So...when you're feeling a little stressed, a little overwhelmed, a little (or a lot) like the day has too much ahead of you...take a walk, breath deeply, look at the blue sky, feel the breeze, and smell the air.  It will make a difference.  Really.  It will.

Give me your update in the comments...how is your move it monday plan going?

peaceful. LIFE.

I can't believe that it's almost time to move already.
I hope you have a good time getting to our area.
It's a sad time to leave the things you love behind but it's a new beginning.
I hope you grow to love the new place as much as you've loved the "old" place.

I know you are really moving and yet somehow I am still having a hard time believing it! I would love to run over and see you for a minute before you pull off in the mini van. What day are you actually leaving??? So sad we missed the super fun party, I am sure it was the best! Ginger Peterson is a very good friend of mine, she said that her family was going! Let me know if there is something that I can do to help you!! Love Ya.........

Jennifer, thanks! I'm taking a lot of deep breaths. Thanks for the reminder! :)

Jen, oooo! Sounds like you have a nice walk down your street. Thanks so much for the offer of help. You are a very long way from me!

Carolyn, it will be fun to see you again when we get out there. Our first stop is probably going to be there at the office to pick up the few things the movers drop off for our 3 week stay in a hotel thing.

becky, I am so going to need a destress walk in the morning. (I'm writing this on Sunday night at 11pm. I think we have an all-nighter ahead of us to get ready for the movers in the morning...) I'm so blessed to have had the chance to get to know you! You are an amazing and inspiring woman.

Becky, I can't believe it either!!! ....that's probably one of the reasons that we're going to be up all night...I think I've been in denial. (or else just too busy to think about it! hahaha...)

Lauren, you are so sweet. I heard that people from my blog completely exhausted your entire stock of ruthie pearl bags! I knew everyone would love them!! They are wonderful!

The best address to send anything to me at would be my studio address. I'm keeping a mailbox there and my studio manager is going to pick up mail everyday during my transition to south carolina. The address is:

Davina Studios
175 25th Street
Studio 205
Ogden, Utah 84401

All the best to you, Lauren!
