Move it Monday.
new contest.
We're already half way through the month! How did that happen?
We need a new contest.
This month we'll go with the person that is the most consistent with posting in the comments on Move it Monday. You need to post every day from now until the end of the month. The winner will get a $50 gift certificate to their favorite place to shop for summer fashion.
You win. You name the place. I'll send the gift certificate.
summer. LIFE.

Oh, and just got back from Lowe's ... pushed around 2 50-lb bags in my cart for nearly half an hour. Now THAT is a stinkin' workout!!!!!!!!
yea, i went to the gym today and made it to a pilates class. i learned my fave evening class is getting dropped starting in july, so i'm going to have to start going in the morning. really early at 9am. haha
Go Karen! Great job!
Today I photographed a 5 1/2lb two week old to first time parents. It took 3 hours. Two to get the newborn off the growth-spurt-breast, one to photograph. Awesomely it left lots of time to bond with the parents who are super cool. Love that.
I'm exercise grounded until Thursday. Looking forward to that fresh brained feeling of getting the circulation going again. :)
Amanda, don't you love evening classes? I wish my local YMCA would have some afternoon yoga classes. 3 p.m. would be perfect for me, but they don't want to do it then b/c no nursery. What? That stinks.
Laura, sorry you're still grounded. How are you curbing your appetite w/ the increased motabolism? Sounds like it'd be rough.
SO today we planned to dig a big hold in the backyard to install my laundry line (it retracts, so we attach one end to the tree and have to dig one hole). WELL it RAINED all day .... which makes my rain barrels happy, but meant we didn't dig. Now it's all hot and sticky, Erik is grilling burgers and we're going to Mass in about 1.5 hours .... so I'm not sure how much daylight will be left after that. Darn it! I have an engagement session tomorrow and I want to scout locations .... no telling when this hole will get dug.
BUT I did do some hand weights ... those ones I put upstairs so I could do weights while I wait for the microwave? Yep, those. I've done several sets and am happy to be doing something at least!
I went to see Wicked today. It was a great production. Stimulating that creativity.
My appetite? Hmmm...yes. Also a sweet tooth. Let's just say I'm looking forward to exercising again before there is too much regression! The boys start swimming lessons in a week and I'm already trying to figure out how to get them on the bike trail!
Also wanted to mention I've been into my crock pot lately! I used to get duds until I realized it's all in the sauce! Sometimes I just drop a packet of marinade seasonings in. Today it was a pot roast with chicken marinade plus fresh sage and rosemary, whole garlic cloves. OMgosh! It was so good and now I am so full! And my plate wasn't even that big! Wondering what else I can make in the crock pot. I sure do like having dinner made for me when I am too tired to cook.
Laura, I LOVE cooking in my crockpot! I even have plans to make a few roasts tomorrow! And then use the rest for enchaladas. Would you believe there are ENTIRE cookbooks devoted to crockpot cooking? I have 2 if you want to borrow one!
SO ... I've been doing a LOT of squats today. :) Also lifting w/ my 5 pound weights ... and did a 2-hour engagement session in the SWEALTERING HEAT .... phew!
Today was my first father's day without a father. I now realize more about this holiday than I ever knew. My husband's father has been picking up the slack and we rewarded him greatly with a new TV. Never underestimate the value of good family and don't be afraid to show it.
So, 30 grueling minutes of yoga and a very sweaty 30 minutes on the bike. Plus I broke a bike at the YMCA, but that's another story.
I stuck a few roasts in the crockpot this morning, Laura! I'm hoping it doesn't warm the kitchen up *too* much .... the temp here is 98, but it feels like 106. Wonderful. I'm going to take up residence in our basement.
Where did everyone go? Just Karen and I want new outfits? :)
It is warm here too. But after foggy wind it feels good.
Photographing grandparents with a baby tonight. It will be good once I get started. I'm feeling lethargic and itching to get walking again! 3 more days!
You can do it, Laura!!!!
Picked a 12-inch zucchini out of our garden this morning. Sweat 20456 buckets in the process.
Learned how to make Ratatouille to compensate for the insane amount of zucchini that will enter our kitchen in the next month ... I'm willing to ship it! ;)
How was the pot roast?
I went to Trader Joe's today and have an idea to do a pork loin with coconut milk and lime. Maybe some curry-ish spices? Any suggestions to my invention?
OMgosh. This 10 month old baby was SO cute. Her bedroom was all super cute designed and we did some photos there. It looked like a magazine! Then the sessions with the grandparents was the fastest thing I ever did because the baby was done! It was so fun and SO important to get those grandparents in the portraits.
I got the a-okay to walk again. I think tomorrow is the day!!!
Potroast was FANTASTIC! :)
Don't you love it when a baby's room is beautiful? It is SO much easier to do nice photos if their room is all pretty ... :)
My car is in the shop. If it's done by dinner, I'll go to yoga tonight .... if not, I'll see if I"m brave enough to mow the lawn in the heat ... but I'll probably wait until at least 8 when it starts to cool down some ...
DAVINA!!!! It's TUESSSDAY!!!!!!!!! ;)
Ok, so 40 minutes of yoga, 30 minutes of bike.
My snack today has been an apple. When I have a snack a little later, it will be another apple! And yesterday night, I had multi grain cheerios (w/ skim milk, yo!).
Been slacking again...can I use the excuse that Davina in at Marfa, Texas and I am Mr. Mom...or maybe Emmett can claim that title since he is watching the girls when I am at work. Karen and Laura, you two are so awesome! Where the heck is everyone else? I want to win shopping, but Davina seems to think that family of the contest host can't win...favoritism or some baloney like that...:)...oh well, I wouldn't trade living with her for all the tea in China (or all the roast in crock pots around the world..:)). Speaking of that, we do roast in the crock pot when we do tacos...shredded beef rules on anything mexican!
