Move it Monday.
yay.
I'm hoping my body is deciding to lose weight again. I've been stuck, plateaued, not going anywhere, jammed, unmoving...whatever you want to call it...that's what I've been. Yo-yo-ing back and forth between 129 and 133. I'm not going up but I'm not going down...
Hopefully, that ends today. I broke 129 and I was 128.5 today. I'm hoping this means I'll be going down again.
I decided I needed to get back to eating less and I started doing my sprints again. I'm hoping that just that little bit of extra effort will get me kick started again. Fingers crossed.
How are you doing? Is there some little extra effort you could put forth that may make a difference? As much as I hate to say it, cutting down on what you eat is what makes the difference. I know when I'm exercising I want to tell myself I can eat more or not cut back...but that just makes me break even.
A little less food is what always makes a difference along with a little bit more of a kick in the pants (like sprints) when I'm exercising.
Good luck everyone. I'm hoping I can say I'm down next week!
How's your self-portrait coming along?
healthy. LIFE.

My husband had the day off today. So not only did we walk TO school, he also wanted to PICK UP after school. 4 miles total. A nice day so it was good.
Tomorrow is my last Saturday training with my TEAM. It has been a really cool experience and I recommend TEAM in Training to anyone looking to get in shape while making a difference!
Laura, you are WICKED!!!!!!!!
Yesterday was rough. 14 hours in the car. Ugh. We brought good snacks, though. Apples, baby carrots, almonds. I was munching on almonds too much (no activity to back it up), so I switched to baby carrots. Good choice! :)
This morning, I"m all wacked out b/c of timezone changes .... so I was up early, and I figured my bro would sleep longer, so I was able to work in a 1-hour walk. And some squats and lunges. We're gonna scout out the Grand Canyon, so I'm excited to be a bit more active today than yesterday. :)
Laura and Karen, I think you are both doing better than I've done today! I just had a ginormous breakfast. I think I need to roll myself out to the street and take a walk.
I hadn't even thought about a team in training here. That would be cool. I think I need the goal to work toward...I'm getting a little to relaxed here.
http://www.teamintraining.org/ At the top of the page you can put in your zip code and see if there is a chapter near you. It is an amazing supportive organization. They take people straight off the couch and get them to do marathons, biking and other sports. Even starting off with the half marathon walk is totally doable! That's where I am and it has been really rewarding.
Today was my last training walk with my TEAM. Next weekend is our big event in San Diego. It is the Rock n Roll marathon and we are participating with TEAM in Training. We walked together for one hour and got our last minute instructions. Get a lot of sleep this week, no alcohol, keep the caffeine to a minimum, lots of water. Funny, those instructions would be good anytime.
Karen, great job with your "on the road workout"! I'm proud of you! You're not going to make this easy for me, are you?! :)
Way to go with an hour walk while on vacation Karen! And Laura, I am excited to hear how the half marathon goes this next weekend...that is awesome! It would be great if Davina and I can join up with TEAM somehow...
Well, on Friday morning I did something that I haven't done since High School...I ran a sub 7 minute mile! 6:54 to be exact and I am so excited! That pace is killer, and I have to ask myself, how did anyone ever run a 4 minute mile? That is a dead sprint all the way! I had done a leg workout and my legs were nice and warmed up so I decided to see if I could start at a fast jog and sustain it...usually the fast jog comes the last quarter mile or so, but it felt great (and my legs were dying near the end!) to be able to sustain that pace and do something that I have not done in so long! Woohoo!
Good luck to everyone this week!
Mike! That is SO AWESOME!!! Congratulations!!!! You "miler" you! Woo hoo!
We had dinner with the grandparents last night and they offered to take the kids home with them. Uh...YES! My husband and I slept in, then watched the movie Duma, about a cheetah. I recommend it. For lunch we walked to the coffee shop. I love that we have some places we can walk to. We even sat and read the paper! We needed that time together. Thank you Grandparents!
Laura, sounds like a great day!
