Move it Monday.
sooo...it's not really Monday this week! :)
I took the day off yesterday and organized my kitchen with my kids and then we went out to eat and shopped for our menu this week.
Going out to eat made me think about how difficult it can be to eat healthy and eat out. I love Panera Bread's Fuji Chicken Salad and the Asian Salad. Some of my fave healthy choice places to eat out. I always ask for the dressing on the side and put 1/2 of that little cup they give me on my salad. I also don't eat the whole salad because it's ginormous and some of the stuff in the salad isn't as healthy as the actual greens...
I also love Just Fresh...the cobb salad there is awesome...even without the blue cheese dressing.
If you don't have a healthy choice and just have to eat at a burger chain because your kids won't have it any other way or because you're on the road and have passed 52 exits and all they have are greasy burgers and fries and you're starved...here are some tips:

I've been a slacka in the being active department.
Buuuuut, I've been working my butt off, really busy, but it's been mostly computer work. I'm working on my butt clenches, Larua! ;)~
I used to love the sierra Turkey sandwich at Panera's until I read that due to the bread it was not a good choice. The salad's are just as delicious..thank you for sharing the healthier options..and their not so healthy counterparts. I'm beginning to move 'it" once again :)
Ran 7 miles this morning - it's been drizzly and cloudy for forever - ready for the sun to come out!
How fun. We are in San diego visiting our daughter and had lunch at Panera yesterday. Yummy bread and soup. We balanced it out with much, much walking around the beautiful island of Coronada.
I guess I've had a pre-conceived notion of Panera with their tagline being BREAD and all. The salads sound really good.
One of my favorites is Chipotle. You can get a burrito in a ("green" cardboard) bowl and their food is healthy, fresh and delicious. They make it a point to buy healthy meats and produce and use many planet friendly alternatives to plastic and styrofoam.
I'm looking out the window wanting to go for a walk between rain storms. We really had buckets here yesterday. Non-stop pouring rain all day!
Come to think of it, I will work on my butt-clenches today too, because I've had a lot of computer time the last few days! Thanks for the funny reminder Karen!

Booty workouts!
Okay, I followed my own advice. I tried some of the online workouts from the link. I did the booty workout 10 minutes, but definitely condensed intense fitness! Then I did the posture one, then the plank one for total core. Each workout has a timer telling you how many minutes and seconds you have to endure! THEN I went for a 1/2 hour walk. Not too fast though, maybe 2 miles.
It felt GREAT to move-it move-it!
It feels like Hawaii here, there is so much moisture in the air and the temps are back up! Laura S. I also debate between my mini-Diet Cokes and water. I'm counteracting my DC with a glass of Emergen-C afterwards for hydration! :)
I've been doing squats. :) aaaaand, I parked and walked into the bank when I wanted to go thru the drive thru.
OK, so anyone else feeling like they're in hibernation? Seriously, ALL I want to do is eat, eat, eat ... and sleep 11 hours a day. I should become a bear.
Fixed strawberries and bananas to go with dinner last night instead of chips or bread!
Laura - thanks for sharing the booty workouts - I need to try some of those!
Those workouts are like concentrated OJ. They get you in just a few minutes!
The change in the light is making it so hard to get out of bed in the morning!!! November 1st is daylight savings change. Yes, hibernation sounds good!
ummmmm....walked a bit today. made lemonade from scratch (don't ask for the recipe, laura, sugar, sugar, sugar....). resting before big weekend wedding. :)
my insane sister and my insane graphic designer are running marathons this weekend in different cities. i think they need mental exams. ;)
Karen, there is a really good lemonade recipe using real maple syrup instead of sugar! It's so good. You can also add cayenne pepper and it is a "cleansing" drink. I don't do that part. :)
I passed up the coffee shop and their microwave eggs to come home and make an egg scramble with an Aidell sausage, sundried tomatoes, basil and goat cheese.
mmmmm...now I have to clean the pan. :)
I ate my homemade breakfast sandwich and even put tomato and spinach on it even though I was craving donuts and kolaches! I almost caved - it is Friday after all.
Laura - I need to look up that lemonade recipe with maple syrup - that sounds AWESOME!
It is awesome lemonade! I just make it up to taste. Makes me want some. :)
We had a family bike ride this morning. 5 1/4 miles to Noah's Bagels and back. I had the salad. :0 Not quite that creamy cinnimon cream cheese on a raisin bagel but oh well.
Laura, when is your marathon?
My marathon is on Dec. 13 - the White Rock Marathon here in Dallas.
My "fit" thing for the entire weekend was the 17 mile run on Saturday.
We're going to Tacoma, WA tomorrow through Sunday - so I'm a little nervous about my running schedule there - but am excited to see that part of the country!
