Summer Vacation
It's finally here! Although, for me it seems like I just posted about my kids' first day of school. The girls had just started kindergarten and I couldn't believe I had a fourth grader. Now an entire year has passed, they're older, smarter, more independent than ever, and they just keep getting bigger. I'm thinking by the end of next year it's very possible that my son will be eye to eye with me. It just doesn't seem like it could possibly be true...and yet it is. No matter how often I think of the day I first held his tiny little body, with his big, black, round eyes staring into me he still keeps growing. I remember when I held my sweet little twins, I would try and just cherish every moment because I knew it would probably be the only time I would get to hold four and five pound babies for such long periods of time.
Those sweet days and weeks after a new baby is born are unlike any others. Our home seemed so like a sweet haven from everything else that was happening. My kids adored would adore that sweet baby and there was never enough time in the day to give the sweet little one (or ones in our case) all the love that we wanted to give. When my last little missie was born she couldn't be held enough and we had to use a timer so that everyone would have a chance to give all the love they wanted to give. Sweet times!
Now, things are just as sweet just so different from those precious weeks when I knew that they couldn't last long because kids can't wait to grow up. It's so exciting how things change every single day! Right before school got out Miriam finally lost her first tooth, Emmett loses a tooth about once a week, Emma is always finding new things to sing about and can often be found singing at the top of her lungs either a Martina McBride or Faith Hill song (complete with a great deal of passion and drama), Gracie is always trying to be six. She doesn't know what three year olds do but she knows that she can do anything a six year old can do. Just in the last couple of weeks we've had picnics on the driveway, new windows, a trip to the doctor for some stitches, a lost tooth, painted a room in our house, rearranged rooms, and completely made a mess of our house doing our spring declutter. Gotta love the way life just keeps moving and changing!

Aww...i miss the good ol' days of being a kid when summer was nothing but fun in the sun! Enjoy Fear children :)
This pics are awesome and all your kids are beautiful! Enjoy every moment with them to the fullest because I totally know how fast they grow up.
Shalise, no doubt...to be a kid again...lol
Greg, I hear you. They just grow up wayyyy to fast.
Davina! Who hurt their leg and when? Great pictures as always! I really like the one of Miriam sitting on the rocks by the stream. And the girls room looks so grown up.
Love you,
Danita
OK: too many pictures that gave us too many questions! OK-who has the hurt leg? We really liked Gracie's "fashion statement" with her bandaids and her neat hat! When did Emma and Miriam get so tall? Did Emmett stretch their legs longer? When we visit, we want to go to your special place by the river and have a picnic too! It appears that Gracie has begun a career as an interior designer-which room is she painting? You said that someone received stitches-who was that? Has the Tooth Fairy gone broke with all those missing teeth? Who decided to take down the bunk beds into single beds? How come we didn't see any pictures of Miriam's and Emma's boyfriends???????? Emmett what stories were you reading to the girls in the pictures? Jumping on the beds???? All Grammy has to sing is:"How many monkeys jumping on the bed"???
Miriam has the hurt leg. She got stitches because of a piece of glass when she was playing Biscuit the dog. Those bandaids are princess bandaids and they are a favorite!
Gracie: I love princess bandaids!
When did Emma and Miriam get so tall?
Emmett: I did not stretch their legs but I'm 4'10" and up past mom's shoulders!
Miriam: I just growed! Emma: I'm taller!
Has the tooth fairy gone broke with all of those missing teeth?
Emmett: Almost. But the big thing that's making them lose money is all the work I'm doing around here. I have soooo much money!
Emma: I've lost two teeth and 2 loose teeth.
Miriam: I've lost two teeth that I pulled out myself and I have 4 loose teeth.
Gracie: I have no loose teeth. Only the girls do. And Emmett, too. I am three! (Holds up three fingers.)
Emmett has lost 8-10 teeth in the last few months. (Every time we turn around he's either got another loose one or pulling one out.)
Who decided to take down the bunkbeds? Everyone: MOM!!! (We decided it was time to rearrange the house so everything and everyone is getting moved around.
How come we didn't see any pictures of Miriam's and Emma's boyfriends? Miriam: I don't know where he lives.
Emma: No comment.
Emmett what stories are were you reading to the girls?
Emmett: Oh! The things you can think and The Foot Book and Go Dog Go(we like Dr. Suess unlike Grammy. lol.)
Jumping on beds???????
Emmett: IT was FUN!!!
Miriam: singing, "Four little monkeys jumping on the bed!"
Danita,
Miriam sliced her leg open on a piece of glass. So stitches were the only answer.
I was thinking the same thing about the girls' room. They are growing up way too fast.
Davina,
Andrea, a teacher at work, told me the other day that whenever she is down or depressed she goes to your website. She sits and relaxes and listens to your music, she loves it!! She looks at all the weddings and all the pictures of your family and it lifts her spirits. I told her you would love to know that and to email you or comment on your blog. I don't know if she has done this but I wanted you to know what your website does for others. Your Awesome!!! Love, Mother
