Cupcrazed in Baxter Village, SC

something delicious is always baking.

If you have yet to discover Cupcrazed in Baxter Village...it's time!

Cupcrazed makes all of their cupcakes and baked deliciousness from scratch.  Every day Heather makes new flavors from Peanut Butter Cup to Red Velvet to things you've never even considered could be a cupcake.

An invitation from Heather to attend a Charlotte Tweet Up sounded like a fun time...and if there are cupcakes involved you don't have to ask me twice. There were cupcakes galore and even a cupcake eating contest where no less than 40 cupcakes were consumed...

Heather is the owner and creator of Cupcrazed along with her 'partner in crime' Debbie.  They've found their life's passion and you can taste it in every bite of a made from scratch cupcake.    Heather is exuberant, fun, and talks with so much enthusiasm about cupcakes, her ecclectic shop, and her ideas that are constantly percolating.  Debbie is continuously aware of the details, making sure every guest is comfortable and treated to the best cupcake experience possible; she works tirelessly and graciously.

Don't miss the chance to have a date with your spouse, son, or daughter at Cupcrazed.  You'll want to take the time to sit down at a mismatched table set or lounge on the window seat surrounded by fluffed pillows while you chat about the school day or the next big idea.

made-from-scratch. LIFE.

Christmas in February

freezing cold and old car.

This day was frigid.  The wind was whistling straight through my coat, sneaking up and into every possible space in my clothing to find my skin and freeze it on the spot.  I kept jumping around trying to stay warm, looking for little places that might block that wretched wind.

Christian seemed like he couldn't be bothered with the weather.  He had things to do, fences to climb, jumping, laughing, a sister to hug, a car to sit on, a lollipop to snag...and that was just the begining. It's amazing to me how cold cannot faze a boy between the ages of 4 and thirteen.  No coat necessary.

It was Christmas time.

funny faces.

I love it when kids get comfortable with the camera and all of the people around them so quickly and easily.  They want to accept people and that's a gift as adults that somehow falls more by the wayside than we'd like it to.  Our cynical, critical, judging side comes out and in a second we want to suck it all back in and wish it never came out.

This sweet boy was so much fun with all of his dramatic and silly and all over the place faces.  So glad I got to meet him!

Getting to hang out with kids who love to be themselves with all of their silliness, crazy funny faces, happy to be your friend nature, quiet looks and energy filled love and happiness...and even the emotional breakdowns mid photo shoot...is the fun part of what I get to do.

Out in the barn.

young Chloe had a cow.   ee-i. ee-i. ohhh.

The wind was whistling from every direction when we got out of the car.  The sky was clear blue but the weather was not inviting us to stay outside for any length of time.  It felt like it must have been something below zero.  I was so glad to hear that we would be shooting in the much warmer barn.  Now, when I think of a barn I usually think the big red made out of wood type things.  This was a warehouse.  It was huge and once inside you completely forgot about the horrible windchill.  Yay.

That was awesome but Miss Chloe was more awesomer (I realize this is incorrect grammar...but she was)

Chloe shows cows.  Her cow is beautiful.  Even though her cow is all pretty and might bat her eyelashes at Chloe to get her way; Chloe is having none of it. That cow and her 4 hundred pounds will not be bossing Chloe around.  Another little girl might have been worried but not this one.  I loved hearing Chloe talk about how much she knew about cows and barns and shows and how to manage her cow.

Thank you for a great afternoon, Chloe.  You go, Cow Girl!

Happy Birthday.
