sneak peek.

I could not wait to see this little family when I got out to Utah.  Nicole and Jim had a lovely and intimate wedding on a mountain top in Park City three years ago.  At that time they had the sweetest ring bearer ever and since then they've added another boy to the mix.  There family has changed and yet they've stayed the same.  There's still a sweet peace about them and Nicole's patience and attention to detail makes for a really fun morning.

These two boys have such different personalities.  I love the way Andrew is so protective and such a big brother and it makes me laugh how his younger brother is completely oblivious to pretty much anything but being as busy as he can possibly be...

Mr. Chef made me some gourmet pancakes with syrup and strawberries and I have to say they are some of the best I've every had.  It's good he made me only 2 or I might still be sitting at their table waiting for another hot pancake.

We played with bubbles...lots of bubbles, balloons, read books, and ate jellybeans...it was a full morning (more of that to come later).

Thanks for the delicious start to my day.

surreal.

This morning I had the opportunity to appear on Charlotte Today and share my thoughts on photography as well as some tips on taking better pictures.  My friend Lisa Brownstead {she's a yoga instructor and owner of Pretty Postures} connected me with Colleen, who is the host of Charlotte Today. 

I've never been on TV or anything like it and I have to say it was so fun to see the behined-the-scenes and getting to chat with Colleen.  I had no idea that everything was so low key and laid back...at least that's the way they make it look!  It seemed like each person on the set had perfect timing and knew just how to make every little moment run smoothly.  Everyone was so friendly and available...you can tell that they all enjoy working together.

I had so much fun being on the show and meeting so many really wonderful women.  {If you need some tips on what the best bra is for your summer wardrobe there's a segment for you, too...and if you want to hear a beautiful story about forgiveness you won't want to miss that tidbit either...well, just watch all of the little bits...you won't be sorry...}

In the middle of our photo shoot we decided it was time for a popcorn break...I'm not sure about how much of it actually got eaten since everyone was having so much fun trying to play catch with each piece of popcorn.

I had so much fun watching Michelle interact with her kids.  She's lighthearted and fun and goes with the flow of her kids' energy.  They are fun to watch and as you can see they have a fun time even with in the ordinary...and that's what's beautiful.

Some of my favorite images are the ones of parents having fun with and loving their children.  So...it comes as no surprise that I'm really in love with the interaction of these kids with their mom.

Jessica is a fantastic mom.  She knows that playing with her kids is a big part of what makes being a mom so fun.  When I talk to her about her family I can tell that there's nothing she loves more than being home with them and creating a safe place for them to rest, play, read, laugh, and be themselves.

I love that little kids have so much enthusiasm for everything.  There isn't one thing that goes by that isn't approached with at a minimum of endless excitement.

Grace is so happy and bubbly and all about dancing.  I loved the time I got to spend with her photographing her just being her...
